Illuma Advisors is a team of clinicians, senior managed care professionals, and pharmacy benefits gurus dedicated to helping our clients navigate the complexities and interdependencies of managed care.

Our in-depth experience in various facets of healthcare illuminated an opportunity to raise the bar for strategic services to PBMs, health plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other healthcare organizations. There’s a hunger for an integrated and individualized approach to advisory services in these areas, leaving behind the usual standardized off-the-shelf approach.

Led by Dr. Deb Curry, a visionary with a deep passion for healthcare transformation, the team boasts industry innovators like Dr. Sarah Rivera, a mastermind in clinical and operational strategies; and Dr. Julia Page, our clinical intelligence expert. Together, they combine decades of experience with innovative and savvy approaches, guiding Illuma Advisors towards collaborative projects that redefine the healthcare arena. Deb Curry, PharmD, FAMCP

President

Deb Curry is the President of Illuma Advisors. As one of Illuma’s creators, she uses her extensive strategic and operational experience in the healthcare industry to assist her clients in building and growing for the future of healthcare. Deb’s passion for healthcare strategy and flipping the script on how we approach the industry is a driver behind the vision of Illuma Advisors.

Her passion for healthcare is exemplified by her volunteer activity in the profession where she is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and has held many roles including most recently serving as the president of the Board of Directors. She regularly speaks or advises on a broad range of emerging healthcare topics and challenges.

Deb brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge in a broad range of roles, including PBM and healthcare strategy, formulary strategy and management, rebate management, network strategy, clinical analytics, and market access strategy. She has held key leadership positions in managed care organizations including Vice President of Clinical Solutions at Health Delegates, Senior Vice President of Clinical & Product Centers of Excellence at SS&C Health, Vice President of Value Based Solutions at Optum Life Sciences, and Senior Director of Formulary and Clinical Strategy at OptumRx.

Deb and her husband David love the thrill of roller coasters—they take every chance they get to head to the amusement parks. These days, sporting events for their 5 boys take precedence, so you can often find her watching one or more of her kids playing baseball, football, or basketball. She usually has her laptop with her while she’s watching one of her boys hitting it out of the park as she enjoys the thrill of making sure that Illuma services are a home run for our clients.

Deb leads the practice at Illuma Advisors and helps her clients see tangible results through a smart, holistic approach to healthcare strategy and operations. Her extensive experience in strategy and operations has resulted in her clients realizing significant savings or enhanced revenue. She helps clients to realize their strategic goals through focusing on the details within the big picture.

Sarah Rivera, PharmD

Vice President of Clinical & Operations

Sarah Rivera is our Vice President of Clinical and Operations at Illuma Advisors. Sarah leverages a wide array of experiences to help our clients with formulary, clinical products, operational efficiencies, and more. Her experience in all aspects of clinical and operations plays to her natural aptitude as a partner who collaboratively works alongside all our varied clients and team members.

Sarah specializes in crafting market access strategies for some of the world’s most innovative pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. Through her 15+ years in managed care strategy, she has also become an expert in pharmacy benefit management. She has held key leadership roles at Optum Life Sciences, Catamaran, Catalyst, Willis Towers Watson, SS&C, and more—and she’s ready to put her insightful strategic thinking to work for you.

Sarah is an avid gardener and enjoys combining that with her passion for cooking. She is also a dedicated volunteer with the US Naval Sea Cadet Corp, a youth leadership organization. Her interests exemplify her attention to detail and passion to nurture growth, which are also reflected in each of the Illuma projects she touches.

As the leader of the clinical and operational practice areas for Illuma Advisors, Sarah Rivera helps clients to streamline their operational processes and enhance their clinical offerings, leading to superior offerings in their markets.

Julia Page, PharmD

Director of Clinical

Julia Page is our Director of Clinical at Illuma Advisors. Julia works with our clients on clinical and drug intelligence projects. She is at her best when she can embed herself within her clients’ teams, as a key player contributing to our client’s overall strategy and execution.

Julia drives the strategic direction of the Illuma Advisors Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee. Her expertise in evidence-based medicine, rebate strategy, and formulary management helps clients optimize formularies for superior clinical and financial outcomes. Julia has held key roles at SS&C Health and Oregon State University's Drug Use Research and Management Program prior to joining the Illuma Advisors team.

Julia is passionate about Missouri Tigers college football – she and her husband are season ticket holders. She is also a die-hard fan of the clients she works with at Illuma, always cheering them on to achieve greater success.

While leading our clinical and drug intelligence practice area, Julia also dives deep into the details to help clients make strategic decisions that drive value for their patients and/or clients.

Laura Goff, PharmD

Lead Senior Clinical Pharmacist

Laura Goff is the Senior Clinical Pharmacist at Illuma Advisors. She uses her extensive managed care experience to assist our clients in maintaining compliance, reducing costs, and gaining efficiencies through electronic prior authorization (ePA) solutions and streamlined processes. Her passion for improving healthcare can be seen in the customized clinical Commercial and Medicare plan criteria she develops for our clients, tailored to meet their members' needs.

She brings over 15 years of expertise in medical benefits, Medicare Part B regulations, prior authorization requirements, and operations buildout and management. She has managed clinical programs for substantial clients within various managed care organizations including Catamaran/Catalyst Rx, Peoples Health, Aetna, and CVS.

Laura’s newly discovered yoga practice has increased her focus and balance, strengthened her core, and provided a sense of peace. With her dedication to yoga comes the flexibility she offers to our clients as she provides clinical solutions with customizable options. As our Senior Clinical Pharmacist, she brings a zen-like concentration as she continually monitors the pipeline to ensure that our clients' clinical offerings remain relevant.

Laura also partners with our P&T Committee to provide updates to our clinical policies for their review. She provides clarity about any new drugs brought to market, new FDA indications and treatment guideline revisions referenced in these clinical policies.
